|Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. We do, however, have a £100.00 minimum order value (exclusive of shipping charges). |
Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept major credit cards via the WorldPay service of the Royal Bank of Scotland and also accept payment via the PayPal system. Our refund policy is shown under "Guarantee," below.
|Shipping And Handling Because of the perishable nature of our products, they are shipped via overnight courier with guaranteed delivery by noon. Unfortunately some areas do not offer this service and we will advise you of this before shipping. Our prices include all packing materials: "cold" orders are packed with special ice blocks. |
Shipping via overnight courier (with guranteed morning delivery) is £22.50 plus VAT on orders up to £199.99 and complimentary on all orders over £200.00.
We do not ship on Friday, as the shipment would just spend the week-end in a warehouse somewhere.
During the online order process you will be asked if you have any special delivery instructions. We, and the courier companies, will try our best to accommodate these requests.
If, as a result of a back-order status, we are asked to split a shipment into two (or more) shipments on different days, we must charge a shipping charge (£20.00 plus VAT) on the second and subsequent shipment. We would absorb this cost if we could, but our margins just don't allow us to do so.
When your order is shipped, we will e-mail you with the tracking number and the details of their on-line tracking service. The courier generally will not leave a parcel unless someone is there to sign for it. We ask, therefore, that you take particular care to have someone on hand at the delivery address to receive the parcel. As much as we would like to hand deliver every parcel personally, this just isn't possible nor cost-effective. Neither the courier companies that we use, nor Lucies Farm Ltd., can be held responsible for spoilage if the courier is unable to deliver the parcel on the appointed date because nobody is at home. (For this reason, you might consider having the parcel delivered to your office or other business.) We only offer a next morning delivery service, rather than a less expensive next day delivery service. We've learned, thorugh experience, that the courier companies devote more attention to next morning deliveries.
Please be aware that international shipping charges can be quite expensive, and shipping times can be quite long. Please contact us via e-mail and we will be glad to give you a shipping quotation.

We are unlikely to be able to ship all orders straight away, we still need to send the meat --- when we can send it --- via courier. This is to prevent spoilage in transit.
We will not substitute without your prior consent. We do not ship on Friday --- simply because the order would spend the week-end in a warehouse somewhere --- so Monday deliveries are not usually possible. Saturday delivery is available in some areas, but the courier companies apply a surcharge for this service. Please e-mail us if you'd like details.
We fill all orders on a "first come, first served" basis. We are doing our utmost to increase our supply of Scottish | Kobe beef and Kurobuta pork, but as each steer and each pig is hand-reared, this is something that takes time. We appreciate your understanding.
If, at any time, you grow frustrated waiting in our queue, please contact us (e-mail is best --- to firstname.lastname@example.org) and we will issue a full and immediate refund. We do not pay interest on funds held by us.
|Back Orders Because of the popularity of Scottish | Kobe beef and the limited supply, we are (unfortunately) often in a back-order status. Current estimates of delivery times are shown for each cut of beef. All orders are filled on a "first come, first served" basis. We apologise for any inconvenience and delay, and will do our best to keep you fully informed of estimated delivery times.|
|Tax Charges As with other food products, ours are zero-rated for VAT purposes. Items for dogs, however, do attract VAT at the standard rate.|
|Credit Card Security We use PayPal and The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBOS) to process credit card transactions. Neither PayPal nor the RBOS shares your confidential card details with us. Once you have completed your order on-line and are ready to check out, you will be given a choice to either go to the PayPal or RBOS Streamline website.|
When you enter your PayPal or credit card details, you do so via 128 bit encryption on either the PayPal or RBOS website. They will simply credit our account, and advise us by immediate e-mail. We do not receive your credit card details.
|Guarantee We guarantee your satisfaction. If anything is wrong with your order, or if you are dissatisfied in any way, please contact us promptly and we'll do whatever we can to make you happy. Refunds are given at the discretion of management.|
Unfortunately, we can't hand-deliver each parcel. We're not responsible for spoilage if the courier company can't deliver your parcel because nobody is available to sign for it. To minimise this, we send an e-mail the day before shipment advising you of the tracking number, and providing a link to the courier's online tracking site. Please contact us by e-mal if you have a specific delivery request, and we'll do our best to work something out. Please ensure a contact telephone number is given with the delivery address --- a number where someone can be contacted if (for example) the courier cannot locate the delivery address.
